About

Hi! I’m Joanie! I started a YouTube channel called The Bite Shot in 2017. I teach food photography and love to share what I know with the greater food photography community.

Over time, I realized that the food photography community was looking for a public platform to share their images and, thus, BiteShotGallery.com was born.

The mission of this site is three-fold.

  1. To provide an opportunity for food photographers of all skill levels to submit images to be shared in a positive community space.  However, not all images are accepted in the interest of supporting personal growth and professional development. If images are not accepted to be posted to the site feed, short feedback will be provided and should be seen as helpful constructive feedback on how to improve in the future. And remember, all great photographers have to start somewhere. If at first you don’t succeed, try again and be proud of your progress!
  2. To provide a collective space where inspiration can be gained and ideas curated in order to have better insight when approaching photoshoots. Moodboards are an invaluable tool for food photographers, art directors and creatives of all types. The high quality imagery displayed here will be a helpful resource to inspire.
  3. To provide a space for those who hire food photographers to find new talent. Participants in the Bite Shot community come from all over the globe and have a wide range of areas of expertise. Art directors, creative directors, marketing and creative agencies can browse content by contributor to connect with a photographer who is perfect for their needs.
